ARTIST STATEMENT:

I am a Baltimore-based painter whose work explores storytelling through layers of image and pattern. Each painting begins with a loose, gestural charcoal drawing that captures just mood and movement.  Layers of oil and mixed media gradually transform these initial impressions into narrative imagery, while traces of the underlying marks remain visible, revealing both the story and the process through which it emerged.

BIO:

I am a designer and painter from Baltimore. After receiving my BFA in Illustration and Graphic Communications from WashU in St.Louis, I traveled widely, working as a design and illustrator in Chicago, Philadelphia, Madison, Italy and the Czech Republic, before settling back in Baltimore in 2001. Since then I have worked as a Creative Director in digital design, and a painter.
